Nigel Cotterill completed a two-year course in furniture design and making at the John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood (Parnham College), Dorset, England, where he gained a distinction on graduation.
In 1993, he set up Whippletree Furniture, basing the company in his first workshop in Oxfordshire. From there he designed and made individual furniture using solid timber and other materials, including glass, stainless steel, slate and granite.
Nigel has recently relocated to Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty with his wife and children. Whippletree Furniture is now located in a new workshop and showroom conveniently placed on Cambridge Road, Tauriko, a minute’s drive from the SH29 turnoff.
Visitors are welcome to view examples of Nigel’s furniture in the showroom and there is ample off-road parking. Nigel is also willing to visit potential clients in their own homes to discuss their individual design requirements.
